David Lunney
I am an emerging contemporary artist based in Dublin. I use the Dublin and Wicklow Mountains as my guerrilla sculpture garden. I have recently had a solo shows in MART Gallery, Pallas Projects and in Galleri Elgen (in Norway,on completion of a one month residency). I also recently completed a collaborative two-person show in Platform Arts Belfast with Eleanor McCaughey.
I was delighted to be invited to have a solo exhibition (working title Ancient Camera) in The Courthouse Gallery in Ennistymon in 2021 as part of the curatorial programme ""Gaze Upon"" curated by Simon Fennessy Corcoran.
I work as a commercial and fine art picture framer in Dublin City Centre. Access and familiarity with the tools and materials as been a boon to my practice. I have applied new and innovative framing techniques to existing tropes within my practice. This has resulted in a hyper-detailed idiosyncratic style of which I am very proud.
